Stuck In Reverse » But I'm Back!

Kamusta!!!

This post is just to reconnect the restless me here on my beloved blog. I never expected to be away from blogging for so long.

Early this year with my article backlogs piling up, I was gearing for at least two articles per week.  Yet I got lost into this sudden hike of hectic office work, on planning my next weekend getaways, updating my village on Clash of Clans and all that other everyday nuances of life.

I was just too lazy gathering enough energy and motivation to hit my laptop. The crazy thing is, I was already seeing the procrastination - the moment I hit the keyboard to write, I was already thinking I would do the article next weekend. Blogging sorts of took a back seat.

I totally lost contact with my blogging goals and I definitely have to cut-off that little voice that starts telling me to do it later.

Ok so, here I am again, making goals to start blogging more. I know it’s good for my brain, my sanity and emotional well-being and all that. This blog is an extension of me and my outdoor life. I share here my personal insights and how I feel about a certain place I visited or a mountain I hiked.

I thought of making this post about general updates because I really have that much to say. Over the past months, there haven’t been any new blog posts here, but that doesn’t mean I already dumped this blog and I totally abandoned going outdoors.

Let me go through the travel gigs I had to share here of what else went on during my blog hiatus:

  • October last year, I had my first traditional tattoo from the famous Apo Whang Od in Buscalan, Tinglayan Kalinga. The painful process was spiritually enlightening and I’ll share my experience soon.

  • December 2014 -  Trip to Ho Chi Minh Vietnam. It is supposed to be a cultural trip, but I end up spending more time on shopping.

  • January 10, 2015 – Tagaytay Roadtrip. The first thing I did as soon as 2015 comes in was to be with my office backpacking buddies on a random roadtrip to Tagaytay - just to kick up those travel adrenaline. I even bought an elegant 2015 Travel Journal from Bo's coffee so I can take down notes on my trips.

  • January 18, 2015 – Quikie Dayhike at Mt. Arayat. My first hike this year. I really enjoyed Mt. Arayat's technical trail.

  • January 25, 2015 – Mt. Pamitinan Dayhike. This is somehow memorable because I was about to cancel this hike because nobody from the locals can show me the start of the trail. When I was to give up, a kid named Angelo showed up and asked me if he can be my guide going up Mt. Pamitinan.

  • February 8, 2015 – Mt. Daguldol Dayhike & Sidetrip to Laiya Beach. It's really nice going on a trip with random strangers. Well, this is my goal this year - to go on a trip with total strangers.

  • February 14, 2015 - #Hugot Beach Camping at Fortune Island. Yes, this was last Valentine's day. Somebody posted an event in Facebook - I have no date so I joined and it was really fun meeting new people.

  • February 20, 2015 – Lost in Mt. Irid. I enjoyed our climb at Mt. Tukduan Banoi on the first day - But on the second day, while climbing Mt. Irid, I got lost on the trail. Alone. I think, I was supposed to be dead by now - had I not prayed for signs.

  • March 21, 2015 – Beach bumming at Cagbalete. After my life enlightening experience at Mt. Irid, I decided I have to take some rest from climbing mountains and in the meantime go on beach bumming instead.

  • March 28, 2015 – Covert Island Gig at El Fraile. I missed the adrenaline rush of the mountains, but I am not ready yet. So I joined this covert mission on exploring Fort Drum, an old concrete battle ship in El Fraile island. Actually this is not open to public.

  • April 11, 2015 – The art of Beachineering in Calaguas. Yes, this is yet another beach.

  • April 18, 2015 – SlideFest at Subic. Sometimes it's really good getting in touch with the kid in you.

  • April 3, 2015 – Mindoro Sling Trip at Puerto Galera.  Perfect place to have booze, beach and nightlife.

  • May 16, 2015 – Masasa Beach Tingloy Island. Nothing beats sleeping on a beach.

  • May 27, 2015 – Trip to Japan - purely business. No photo.
  • June & July – Hell month. Something happened at work. All backpacking trips cancelled.

That's it! We’ll see how often I can keep up with the blog posts, but hopefully more often than just once month!
