Faith During Hard Times - Bible Verses for Those Facing Natural Disasters [Pray for Taal]

Number of evacuees due to Taal Volcano's unrest now at over 40,000
Whether you or a loved one is facing a natural disaster or coping with its aftermath, here are some Bible verses offering comfort, hope and reminders of God's loving care.

For the more than 500,000 residents of the exclusion zone around the Philippines’ Taal volcano, which began erupting on Sunday, the coming days will be a tense wait to see if the eruption will intensify—threatening lives and property—or sputter out. If activity ramps up, Taal is capable of producing all three of the deadliest volcanic hazards: tsunamis, mudflows, and superheated flows of gas and debris. Volcanoes are notoriously unpredictable, but there are seismic signs and others that geologists will be watching for indications of what this one will do.

Why Save The Forest? [Benefits of the Forest] - Animated Video

These green giants are essential for people, climate and wildlife. Forests act as a source of food, medicine and fuel for more than a billion people. In addition to helping to respond to climate change and protect soils and water, forests hold more than three-quarters of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity, provide many products and services that contribute to socio-economic development and are particularly important for hundreds of millions of people in rural areas, including many of the world’s poorest.

The importance of forests cannot be underestimated.
We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change. Yet, despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear.

What is a Phreatic Eruption? Volcano Fast Facts [Volcanic Types of Eruption] [VIDEO]

WATCH: What is a Phreatic Eruption Video? Volcano Fast Facts [Volcanic Eruption] - explained in 3D Animation
This video shed some light on the complicated, language of science. Think of this as your terminology tour-guides.
Sources:

1. Phreatic comes from the Ancient Greek phrear, which meant “well,” or “spring.” It’s also related to the word “brew.”
2. A phreatic eruption is made up of steam-driven explosions that occur when water beneath the ground or on the surface is heated by volcanic activity.
3. The water, once heated, begins to boil or can even flash straight to steam, causing an explosion.
4. Phreatic or “steam-blast” eruption occurs when steam is produced from the contact of cold groundwater with hot rock or magma.
5. During phreatic eruptions, no new magma is produced. Only fragments of preexisting solid rock in the volcano are expelled.
6. Also known as ultravulcanian eruption, the USGS says a phreatic eruption is “generally weak.”
7. Groundwater can often be found near volcanic vents, and as the magma rises to the surface of the earth, it heats the groundwater and cause Phreatic eruption.
8. Phreatic eruptions typically include steam and rock fragments; the inclusion of liquid lava is unusual.
9. If molten magma is included, volcanologists classify the event as a phreatomagmatic eruption.
10. Phreatic explosions can be accompanied by carbon dioxide or hydrogen sulfide gas-emissions.
11. These eruptions occasionally create broad, low-relief craters called maars.
12. Phreatic eruptions can often precede, accompany, or follow a more traditional volcanic eruption.

Without bees and pollinators, 75% of the world's human food crops wouldn't exist!
