Why Should We Buy Directly From Our Rice Farmers? | Support Pinoy Rice | Inspiring Advocacy Video

On this Filipino farmers video essay, we present some facts about Filipino farmers in 2021 & Filipino farmers latest news. Probably you have seen on the news about the oppression of Filipino farmers and how they are now described as "dying breed". Filipino farmers do live a lowly life, and in the actual world, there are very few who live in wealth, i.e. private landowners and oppressive capitalists. Farming is a job, a decent one. However, farmers remain poor because of those who prey on them to achieve affluence.

It is about time we communicate appropriately the image of the very people who ensure the food on our tables – even when they struggle to feed themselves and their families.

The majority of the farmers do not get fair payment despite working hard in the fields. If you’re wondering how you can take part in supporting smallholder farmers, here are some ways on how you can help:

1. Buying produce directly to farmers

2. Join the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

3. Eat at farm-to-table restaurants and cafes

4. Spread the word for the farmers

5. Promote local stores that sell local products

6. Purchase materials in local gardening shops

Supporting our farmers doesn’t have to be big. The next time you buy fruits and veggies or eat out at a restaurant, consider these tips and always prioritize local farmers and enterprises.
