Travel Tip #1: Once a year, go somewhere you've never been before

Travel Tip #1: Once a year, go somewhere you've never been before

Traveling has a lot of benefits. It changes you physically and psychologically. You discover a part of yourself that you haven't seen in your daily living. You'll find your interest; you'll learn something new; and you'll meet new people. It brings you one of the best feelings that you will never feel if you will just stay in your comfort zone. As Mark Twain said: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.”

Travel Tip #2: Pack light

Travel Tip #2: Pack light

Write down a list of essentials that you need to bring such as Passport, Travel Documents, Maintenance Medicine, etc. It is also okay to wear the same shirt that you used. Think of how many days you will stay there and how many clothes you will need, then bring only the half of it. However, don't forget to bring extra undergarments. That's a must!

Travel Tip #3: Travel by yourself at least once

Travel Tip #3: Travel by yourself at least once

Traveling alone will be the scariest, most liberating, life changing experience of your life. Still, try at least once. As the saying goes, you will never know what you will find out about you. Traveling alone will teach you how to fend yourself, talk to people, and handle unfamiliar situations with ease. Discover the world and don't wait on anyone to be with you. If you are waiting for someone to travel with you, you may end up waiting a lifetime.

Travel Tip #4: Take extra money or bank card with you

Travel Tip #4: Take extra money or bank card with you

Life is unpredictable. You don't know what may happen to you. It's always good to have a backup in case you get robbed or lose your wallet. You don't want to get stuck on somewhere new and don't have money to spend. Make sure you put it somewhere safe and not on the same wallet you have.

Travel Tip #5: Be frugal, but not cheap

Travel Tip #5: Be frugal, but not cheap

Don’t be pennywise but pound-foolish. Look for deals and don’t waste money, but don’t miss out on great experiences or walk 10 miles to save a little. Time is money. Spend them both wisely.

Travel Tip #6: Be open to strangers

Travel Tip #6: Be open to strangers

You might be shock to hear about this? But let me tell you, not everyone bites. Remember you are like them. A little hi or smile to those people that you will meet along your travel is not a big of a deal. They just want to live a happy life just like yours and fulfill their own dreams. Remember, that a good friend was once a stranger.

Travel Tip #7: Don't let your guard down

Travel Tip #7: Don't let your guard down

As I have mentioned last week on our Tuesday Travel Tips - Be open to strangers.

In addition with that, as you welcome new people in your life you still have to be very careful. Don't let your guard down. Yes, some people do bite, literally and figuratively. Keep a healthy level of suspicion. You don’t want to fall for any travel scams or get yourself into uncomfortable situations. Be open but cautious.

Travel Tip #8: Learn local phrases of the local language

Travel Tip #8: Learn local phrases of the local language

You don't have to learn and be fluent to their language but it will be nice and will help you to communicate better with the locals. Just a few phrases would be fine. Plus, you will get the chance to ask for discount when you're planning to buy a souvenir.

Travel Tip #9: Make extra copies of your passport or important documents

Travel Tip #9: Make extra copies of your passport or important documents

Expect nothing but always prepare for the worst. You'll never know when you will need it, so it is better to make some extra copies and send it to your e-mail. Just in case you lost your passport, having an extra copy will help you file a police report.

Travel Tip #10: Eat local foods

Travel Tip #10: Eat local foods

This tip will complete our Top 10 Tuesday Travel Tips and this will be the last travel tip for this year. Will see it again next year. Yey!

Foods can represent their place. There are foods that are popular and can only be found at certain area. No matter how everyone is trying to imitate it, eating food on their homeland is still the best. Plus, sometimes they sell it cheaper than those who sell it near on your place, maybe because of the price of the ingredients. Nevertheless, when you visit a place, always try their delicacies.

Travel Tip #11: Do not overdo

Travel Tip #11: Do not overdo

The best things happen unexpectedly. Learn to plan as little as possible. Chances of making all the things that you list is nearly possible to change. You may realized you'll love the place a little bit more or hate it 2x more than you like it. There's nothing wrong in planning but overdoing it may eventually lead you to feel restricted and end up regretting it.

Travel Tip #12: Charge your devices whenever you have the chance

Travel Tip #12: Charge your devices whenever you have the chance

Whenever you see a spare power socket, charge your devices because you’ll wish you’d taken the opportunity when you eventually run out of battery.
