Philippines Secures 'Destination of the Year' Title at 2023 TripZilla Excellence Awards

In a remarkable achievement, the Philippines has clinched the esteemed "Destination of the Year" award during the 9th edition of the TripZilla Excellence Awards in 2023.

The announcement, made by the Tourism Promotions Board, the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism, marked a momentous occasion on November 10, describing the recognition as a "significant milestone."

The Tourism Promotions Board celebrated the award as a testament to the country's standing as a premier travel destination, highlighting its diverse attractions, rich heritage, and warm hospitality.

Notably, the Philippines secured a double victory this year, as the Tourism Promotions Board was also honored with the Sustainability Leader of the Year (Asia) award for the second consecutive year. The Sustainability Leader of the Year award underscores the Board's commitment to championing sustainability and providing authentic local experiences.

Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, the Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board, expressed pride in receiving both accolades. She stated, "We are proud to receive the Sustainability Leader of the Year (Asia) award for the second time in a row and be named the Destination of the Year by TripZilla. These accolades are a testament to our passion for showcasing the beauty of the Philippines and our ongoing efforts in championing sustainability and providing genuine local experiences."

Nograles added, "Together, we are crafting a sustainable legacy so that future generations of travelers may also enjoy it in the years to come."

The annual TripZilla Excellence Awards, hosted by TripZilla, a leading digital travel media company in Southeast Asia, acknowledges travel organizations that redefine industry standards and deliver exceptional experiences while contributing positively to the tourism sector.
