Guide to Responsible Hammocking - Hammock camping the right way - Animated Video Infographic

Reduce your camping footprint, and swing into your next adventure!

Hammocks are prime examples of a minimum-impact shelter. They require no ground leveling, trenching or staking. When used with a tree-friendly suspension system, hammocks don’t alter the natural environment. And the smaller your camping footprint, the less likely you are to impact plants or wildlife.

Here are the tips for hammock-camping the right way:

Watch Video directly on my Youtube Channel:

1: Use “tree saver” straps. These wide nylon/polyester webbing straps go around the tree to minimize girdling and damage to the bark and cambium layer, which can cause wood-tissue death. Never use anything made from a non-tree-friendly material, such as plastic zip cords. Never hammer or screw anything into trees.

2: Set up hammock camp at least 200 feet from any water source. These riparian areas provide unique plant habitats and communities and are significant in soil stabilization.

3: Look for an established (pre-existing) campsite to set up your hammock. Per Leave No Trace principles: “Good campsites are found, not made. Altering a site is not necessary.” Large hammocking groups should split into smaller groups to prevent unnecessary disturbance. Leave No Trace advises: “Keep campsites small. Focus activity in areas where vegetation is absent.”

Batang Probinsya Ka Ba? Balikan natin yung masasayang larong Pinoy!

Sabi nga sa kantang "Kanlungan"
Panapanahon ang pagkakataon,
Maibabalik ba ang kahapon?

Syempre hindi, past is past - para syang toothpaste, pag nilabas mo na sa tube, di mo na maibabalik.
Pero yung masasayang feelings, pwede mong alalahanin at balik-balikan - sabi nga ni Peter Pan - think happy thoughts and you'll fly!

Pupunta kami dun at mag t-tumbling tumbling.

So dapat learn to enjoy the things while it's there.

Pierre-Charles Grob appointed CEO of Availpro and Fastbooking

Availpro and Fastbooking are continuing in their merger with the appointment of a new CEO. This summer, Pierre-Charles Grob took over as head of the two sister companies, subsidiaries of the AccorHotels group. Before taking up his new position, Pierre-Charles Grob had, since 2014, held the position of Managing Director Asia at Fastbooking, where he developed the presence and reputation of the brand.

"His career in the international hospitality industry, his entrepreneurial profile and his client-oriented culture make him the ideal person to lead the growth of Availpro and Fastbooking and make these two companies a world leader in software publishing for the hotel industry "comments Thibaut Viort, Chief Disruption Officer & Growth Officer at AccorHotels.

Created in 2001 and 2000 respectively, Availpro and Fastbooking provide e-commerce solutions to independent hotels and hotel groups to develop their online distribution. In recent years, they have each developed unique and recognised expertise in their field: technology and connectivity for Availpro, UX and Digital Marketing for Fastbooking. Together they offer a range of leading technological solutions for the hospitality industry and today support more than 10,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries in Europe and Asia.

"Availpro and Fastbooking are complementary: my ambition is to accelerate the synergy of their solutions without losing the DNA of each of the two brands and their proximity to customers. The hospitality industry is evolving rapidly, and the pace is steady in terms of innovation. Hoteliers need agile and innovative technological partners, and I intend to make Availpro Fastbooking their partner of choice," remarks Pierre-Charles Grob.
