Singapore ICA Extension - Spike in the Number of Seafarers Overstaying at Floatel and Seacare
Reminder to submit extension applications to ICA for ship crew extending their stay at holding facilities
MPA would like to draw your attention towards the on-signing and off-signing crew staying at the holding facilities (Floatel@TPT and Seacare), especially with regard to the crew who require an extension of their stay at these holding facilities.
ICA has noted a spike in overstayers at the holding facilities in the past month and the common reasons include:
- Flight delays
- Vessel arrival delays
- Delays in the release of swab test results
MPA reminded that all crew who require an extension of their stay in the holding facilities beyond two (2) days would be required to submit extension applications to ICA, as overstaying without a valid extension is considered a penalizable offence.
