WATCH! NEW Clark International Airport (CRK) Terminal 100% Complete! [Angeles, Pampanga]
UPDATE as of 22 January 2021
The new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of the Clark International Airport has been officially handed over to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) by Megawide GMR Construction Joint Venture in a ceremony today, 22 January 2021.
After the symbolic handover of the project, the DOTr and BCDA officially turned over its operations and maintenance to the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation, the operator of Clark International Airport.
The new PTB can accommodate 8 million passengers on its opening year, almost tripling the airport's passenger capacity from the current 4.2 million to 12.2 million annually. The airport expansion project for CRK has been completed by the end of September 2020, ahead of its original October target completion date amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"When we envisioned this project, nobody believed that we can make it happen. There were doubts and skepticism which may have defeated us along the way and hindered the completion of our goal. However, our determination and resolve were much stronger than any disbelief. Now, they will finally believe," DOTr Secretary Tugade said in his speech delivered by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Jim Sydiongco, who represented the Transport Chief during the ceremony.
From conceptualization, execution to completion, the Clark International Airport’s new PTB is one of the fastest undertaken big-ticket infrastructure project by any government or any administration.
In her speech, LIPAD Corporation CEO Bi Yong Chungunco said that it is high-time for the airport to have a new PTB.
"We hit 4 million passengers. And that's why, it is time for us to move into this new terminal, with a capacity of 8.2 million passengers," she said
Further, the LIPAD CEO mentioned the plan to covert the old passenger terminal building into a vaccination hub.
" Our facility will be ready to vaccinate more than 10,000 people a day. Because what can be more perfect than having Clark International Airport as a vaccine hub and have the vaccination center right next door," Ms. Chungunco said.
The world-class airport serves as a major gateway for Luzon, one of the solution for decongesting NAIA, It will be connected with the PNR North-South Commuter Railway and the Subic-Clark Railway. Its architecture is inspired by the Sierra Madre mountain range, and is designed to be disaster-resilient as well.
Joining the ceremony today were Pampanga 3rd District Representative and Chairperson of the Congressional Committee on Bases Conversion Hon. Aurelio Gonzales, Jr., Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Vice Chair of the Board of Directors Benjamin Defensor Jr., Megawide-GMR Construction Joint Venture Inc., Deputy Project Director Rajesh Gandla, Megawide Vice President Jason Torres, CDC President and CEO Manuel Gaerlan, BCDA Senior Vice President Joshua Bingcang, and Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President and CEO Aaron Aquino.

The new terminal, built by Megawide Construction Corp. and GMR Infrastructure Ltd., is also expected to help in decongesting the passenger traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.
The DOTr added the expansion project will be a key factor in accelerating economic progress in Central Luzon, especially in job generation and tourism endeavors.
The new Clark International Airport terminal is slated to operate in January 2021.
San Miguel Corporation is also planning to build the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan, Bulacan, also aimed at decongesting NAIA and complement the nearby Clark International Airport.
Senators approved on final reading on Monday the bill granting San Miguel Aerocity Inc. the authority to build, develop, and operate the new international air gateway to the greater Metro Manila area.
